What is Frozen Shoulder?
Frozen shoulder occurs when the shoulder capsule thickens and restricts movement in the shoulder joint. Another medical term for frozen shoulder is adhesive capsulitis. This condition is associated with shoulder stiffness and joint shoulder pain.
Frozen Shoulder Causes
Some causes of Frozen Shoulder may include:
- Diabetes
- Hyperthyroidism
- Hypothyroidism
- Cardiovascular disease
- Tuberculosis
- Parkinson's disease
- A stroke
- A mastectomy
- When the shoulder is immobilized for a long period of time such as after surgery or after an arm fracture
Frozen Shoulder Symptoms
