What is Bursitis Shoulder?
The bursae are a fluid sacs that reduce friction or rubbing in the tissues of the shoulder. Bursitis Shoulder is when the bursae become irritated or inflamed, causing shoulder pain.
Bursitis Shoulder Causes
Bursitis Shoulder is more common in people over the age of 40 and can be caused by:
- Repetitive impact on the bursae
- Sudden, major impact on the bursae
- Tendon wear and tear from aging
- Shoulder joint overuse, especially from gardening, carpentry or shoveling

Bursitis Shoulder Symptoms
Bursitis Shoulder symptoms may include:
- Shoulder pain, which may be gradual or sudden and severe
- Severe loss of motion in the shoulder

- Swelling, redness or warmth
- Multiple pain sites
- Not being able to move the shoulder
