Common Sports Medicine Treatments

Our process starts with you. At your first visit we will spend the time getting to understand and access your injury or joint pain. From performing physical examination to advanced imaging studies, we can discuss the intricacies of your injury or joint pain from a comprehensive, authoritative perspective as only an experienced orthopedic specialist can.

Home remedies

We might recommend you try at-home remedies to treat minor sports injuries. Examples include resting the injured area, wearing a brace or splint, using ice or heat packs, using compression bandages, and keeping the injury elevated.

Fracture care

Fracture care includes resetting a displaced bone or wearing a cast until your injury heals.

Physical Therapy

Physical therapy strength exercises and stretches can speed up the healing of a sports injury and prevent further problems without the requirement of surgery.

Medications

Taking medications can reduce the inflammation and pain associated with a sports injury.

Injections

Injections can reduce inflammation and discomfort, lubricate your joints, and stimulate your body’s ability to heal itself. Examples of injections we may suggest include steroids, hyaluronic acid, or stem cells.

Surgery

Dr. Asad Khalid might recommend that you undergo surgery in severe cases of a sports injury. Surgery can remove, repair, or replace injured tissue.
